This microphone is a real crown jewels item from our equipment collection here at Loop Studios.
Ours is a vintage one from the 50's, in fantastic condition, originally owned by Dan Loop's Great Uncle, so it is also a family heirloom!
It is also considered to be one of the most famous mics in history.
It is a valve condenser mic and was a favourite of a certain George Martin when recording The Beatles at Abbey Road.
It was predominantly used to record bass, however was also frequently used to record strings and piano.
Considered a classic, it is still hugely popular with engineers across the spectrum, from classical /. film all the way across to pop records.
A hugely valuable, historic and outstanding microphone, and as always - available to you when booking in to record with us here at Loop!
